Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are an integral part of Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada’s organizational culture. Understanding these core concepts is the first step to engaging fully in our inclusive culture and helping create an environment free of discrimination and prejudice.

Diversity in the workplace

Our commitment to diversity is expressed in many ways, by recruiting people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, age groups and genders, but also by seeking out talents with different experiences, levels of education, skills and beliefs. The pandemic has been beneficial in this way in that it’s allowed us to hire top talent from across the country without worrying about location constraints. The result is a powerhouse team boasting diverse and complementary skills.

Equity in our organization

Equity is about ensuring everyone has access to the same kind of opportunities. Melissa Bélisle’s career path is a compelling example of equity at work in our company. Melissa started with us as an administrative accounting agent in 2012. She quickly rose through the ranks—and had four children along the way. Today, Melissa is our Vice-President, Client Support, Litigation and Portfolio Management. Men and women have the same opportunities for advancement!

Inclusion in our workplace
 

Inclusion means giving everyone a chance to participate and contribute to the company’s internal and external success through initiatives like the Green Committee, Women in Finance and the Community Action Committee. In this way, team members not only have the opportunity to contribute professionally, but socially as well.
